Disable Chrome's built-in PDF viewer

If you experience any issues when opening encrypted PDF files using Google's Chrome browser, please follow the following steps to turn off the built-in PDF viewer:

  1. Open a new tab in Chrome.
  2. Enter chrome://settings/content into the address bar
  3. Scroll down to PDF Documents

Within PDF documents you can disable the built-in PDF viewer.

Ensure that the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (http://get.adobe.com/reader/) and the FileOpen plugin (http://plugin.fileopen.com/) are installed.
