Notifications alert you that an action has been taken by another person which is related to you or content that you have been associated with. To view your notifications, click Notifications on the right side of the Top Navigation Bar:
To reveal the user's most recent notifications:
Notifications that are listed here all fall into the categories of notifications that the user has chosen to receive online. (A user can also choose to receive notifications via email).
When new notifications are available, the number of new notifications are shown in the Notifications button:
And within the list of notifications, the new notifications are listed with a light blue background.
Each notification reveals:
- Who took the action that triggered the notification
- The action that was taken
- The subject matter of the notification (for example, the file that was commented upon)
- When the action took place
Click on the notification to access the content that is the subject of the notification.
View all notifications
To view all of the notifications that the user has received, click See all notifications:
The user can navigate through the notifications chronologically or the user can access the menu in the upper right hand corner to filter the notifications by category. Users can also use the text box to search their notifications:
To access the System notifications section where a user can decide which activities they want to be notified for, click Settings:
Select which activities you want to be notified for, and click Save.
Notifications on a smartphone
On a smartphone, the Notifications icon appears in the Top Navigation Bar and tapping it reveals the same list of notifications:
