The Modules administration page is used to select which modules are to be enabled for a site, what custom name to give to each module and which module will be shown by default when you access the site.
To access the page, click Admin within a site:
The Modules screen will be displayed.
Configuring the Modules
The default Modules admin page looks like this:
- Choose the module(s) that should be enabled on the site. By default, on new sites, the Files and People module will be enabled and all users/groups will be given access to the Files module. Most modules can be configured to limit access to particular security groups or users
- Determine whether any of the modules should be renamed and rename them. While any module can be renamed on a site-by-site basis, the Vocabulary settings in the system administrator console can be used to change the default name for most modules
- After selecting the modules that will be enabled, determine which one should serve as the site landing page. This is the first page users will see when they come to the site from the Dashboard. Please note that if a user has not been given access to the module that is set as the landing page, the first page that they will see will be the first enabled module that they have access to, in the module order shown above
- Click Save to apply your changes.
In order to enable the Q&A module, the Files module must also be enabled. The Q&A module cannot be made the site landing page.
How to rename a module
Click Rename:
The Rename window will be displayed where you can make changes to the module name. Click Save to keep your changes.
The module name will now be renamed.
Once all module name changes have been made, click Save to apply your changes. The modules will now be renamed on the site:
Changing the name of a module in a site has no impact on the names of modules in other sites.
To change a module back to its original name, click Rename and then click Reset default names:
