As of 5.5, we have introduced the ability for custom colours to be applied to categories or series. This functionality is only accessible to users who are site administrators.
Please note that custom colours will be included in a solution template when they are applied to a chart that uses an iSheet that is in the same site and where the colours are mapped to iSheet choices.
When any other column type is used to make the custom colours, these colours cannot be saved in a template.
Setting the custom colours
To set your custom colours; when editing your dashboard, click More actions > Edit for the chart you wish to set the colours for:
The Edit panel - Data visualisation screen is displayed. Within the Edit panel - Data visualisation screen, navigate to Customise within the Chart preview section:
The Customise tab is displayed. Within the Customise tab, select Custom Colours... as your theme and then click Edit custom colours:
The Colour customisation screen will be displayed:
Please note that depending on the type of chart you have selected (and whether or not you have chosen a series) the list of values you can choose to assign to a colour will change
Within this screen, you can either click on the colour block to select a colour from the colour picker:
Or enter the hexadecimal value of the colour you want within the colour field.
Once selected, click Apply to apply your changes or click Reset to reset the values to the pre-defined default values for the theme.
Please note that it is not possible to apply custom colours to multiple values. For example, if you have the sum of billed data and the sum of budget data, it is not possible to apply custom colours to those two values.
Once you have selected your colours, click Apply within the Customise tab to see your new colours applied to your chart:
Click Done to save your changes.
Please note that if you apply custom colours to charts that normally have a single colour, such as “Standard column”, the system will automatically hide the legend as it no longer applies
