Attachments in the Files module - iSheets and Q&A

The attachments section in the Files module stores files that are:

Only external attachments not already in the platform are added to the Q&A attachments folder.

The Attachments section can be found in the left pane.  

Click the Q&A or iSheets folder.

iSheet attachments

As of v5.5, iSheet attachments may be viewed and managed in the Files module. Open the Files module, then click Attachments.

Attachments are organised into folders, using the name of the source module, iSheet and column name.

Documents in the Attachments section may be bundled for download (if you are an admin), searched (with basic search only) and organised.

If DRM and Approval workflow are enabled, they are applied to files in the iSheets folder in the Attachments section.

If you delete from the Files module, the file it will be removed from both the Files module and the attachment column in the iSheet.

You cannot add files stored in the Attachments section to your favourites

Files in the default location cannot be used in Data Visualisation, Workflow or AI analysis.

Click the folder name above the list of files to view the folder structure and navigate.

In this case, the document is stored in the Attachments section, iSheets module, data iSheet, and finally the More Docs column (listed from bottom to top).

Permissions

In the Files module, iSheet permissions are respected. Therefore, users with permission to see attachments in the iSheet can also see them in the Files module in the Attachments location. 

Attachments from v5.4 onwards

After the version 5.5.3 release, attachments stored in an iSheet that use the default location will be available in the Files module, respecting iSheet permissions.

 

Q&A attachments

Each file lists the Q&A question that it relates to, along with the size, authors name, and the last modified date.  

Place a tick in the checkbox next to the attachment name to access the Action button. Click on Download to download the file. 

You can also use More Actions to download the file.

To download many or all files in bulk, select the checkbox for each file, click Action and then Download. The files are packaged in a zip file with the same name as the site. 

Use the View button to change the display of the files to help you browse and search. The thumbnail view will show a small image of the file along with the Q&A question, size, authors name and last created date. 

Use Search to find files matching your criteria.

Items listed in Attachments cannot be exported in the file index.
