Channel dashboards in Publisher

Product Filter HighQ Publisher
Product Area Filter Channels

The dashboard tab gives you control over the layout and visual design of the channel web page.

From the Admin tab, click Next to display the Edit Dashboard tab:

Sections

Click Add section to add a new section to your dashboard:

In a section, you have access to the following options:

  • Move section - This option enables you to move your sections and change the order of the sections in your dashboard

  • Column chooser - The column chooser enables you to select how many columns you have in your section, and the layout of those columns:

Each column can have its own panel(s), and if there is enough space in the column it can have its own subsection. To add this subsection, click Add sub section:

A new subsection will be added to your column:

In each subsection, you can add panels and an additional subsection.

  • Background colour - This lets you choose the background colour for the section. Click Background colour to display the colour picker:

The colour you have selected will be visible when you preview your channel dashboard, and once it has gone live.

  • Background image - This lets you choose the background image for the section. Click Background image to display the Insert background image screen:

You can either select an image from the image library (by scrolling or using the search image field) or upload one of your own images from your computer. Once you have selected your image, you will be allowed to crop, view a preview and rename the image. Once you are happy with your choice, click Insert. The image will be visible when you preview your channel dashboard, and once it has gone live.

  • Class - The Class section is used to set a class for each of your sections and columns. A class is an identifying word that enables system administrators to customise CSS for your sections and columns.

The Class section is for more advanced users. We do not recommend attempting this without some CSS knowledge.

To add a class, click .cls:

Enter the names of your section class (row class), and each column class where you want to customise the CSS. System admins should now navigate to System admin:

In the system admin screen, navigate to Customisation in System customisation:

The Customisation screen is displayed:

Scroll down to the Custom css field in the Custom section, and enter the class as part of the CSS script.

  • Expand/collapse section - This button enables you to expand and collapse each section, making it easier to manage your dashboard
  • Remove section - This button allows you to delete entire sections. If you attempt to delete a section, a warning screen will be displayed, warning you that the deletion is permanent.

Actions

System administrators have an additional option. Click Actions to view all actions available to you:
