You can use HighQ Drive on an iOS or Android device to quickly scan documents and store them. You may also securely scan and add your signature and electronically return a signed document.
Images and instructions for both the iOS and Android apps are included below.
Scanning a document
Open HighQ drive on your device.
To scan a document, navigate to any site and folder location from the Browse view (list of files), then tap the + icon, which is in the top of the screen for iOS and shown as a floating action button for Android. Tap Scan Document:
The app opens the camera. Focus on the first page to capture.
For iOS, in most cases the camera will auto-detect the page, showing a box around the area to be captured, and automatically captures the page.
For Android, tap to focus on the picture and press the shutter button, after which the app will automatically place a border around the area to be captured. Adjust as required then tap Crop:
After the first page has been captured, you may repeat the process to capture more pages. Multiple pages captured in the same scan are saved as a single document:
After you have captured all the pages, tap the Save button (iOS) or the page thumbnail icon (Android):
For iOS, you may edit the filename, change the file's location and save the document as either a multi-page PDF or a series of JPG images (one for each page). Tap Add signature to add a signature to one or more scanned PDF pages:
For Android, you may adjust how the captured pages are cropped, the page orientation and colourisation ('magic colourisation' is the default option). Tap Save then choose PDF or JPG file output, the filename and file location. Tap Add signature to add a signature to one or more scanned PDF pages:
Add a signature
If you need to add a signature, first follow the instructions above to scan the document.
Tap Add signature to add a signature to one or more scanned PDF pages.
The document is displayed; a toolbar at the bottom of the screen allows you to add a new signature using the device camera or to select an existing signature image from the device's image library :
If you select Capture from camera, you may scan a signature from an existing paper document, then crop the area around it:
Tap Done to add the signature to the document. Drag the signature to the required location; pinch to change the size.
In most cases, the background of the signature is removed, which allows you to place the signature in the required location.
Tap Duplicate the either Duplicate on same page or Duplicate on all pages to either add a copy of the selected signature to the document or to duplicate it on every page of the document in roughly the same position (this depends on relative page sizes):
Each signature can be individually selected, then adjusted or deleted.
For iOS: Tap Delete all signatures to delete/remove all added signatures from the document:
You may not delete signatures in Android.
When all signatures are in the required place, tap Save. A tick mark is displayed next to Signature added to indicate the document contains signatures and can be saved:
For iOS: Tap the delete icon to remove all added signatures from the current document.
Select a location on the HighQ instance to save the scanned document, then tap Save to upload the finalised document to the specified location:
Add signatures to an existing document
In addition to scanning documents, you may also add signatures to any PDF document stored in HighQ. Tap the More options icon next to a file in any view and select Add signature:
The Add signature window opens; capture and add signatures as described above.
You may save the document as a new file, or as a new version of the file:
