How you log in for the first time varies due to any pre-configuration done by your IT department or system administrators, and when the instance you need to use was activated.
Please check your on-boarding process for any information on accessing your account.
You will use your assigned email address to access Thomson Reuters products and receive an invitation email with a link that starts your account registration.
If you have not received an invitation email, please contact your system administrator or IT department.
When was your instance activated?
In general, users on an instance activated after March 2023 use a Thomson Reuters account; users on instances created before March 2023 use a HighQ Collaborate account, or a Publisher account if your instance only provides access to Publisher.
A HighQ Collaborate account only provides access to Collaborate; this is the legacy login method and is due to be upgraded to provide access to a Thomson Reuters account.
A Thomson Reuters account provides access to a range of Thomson Reuters products with a single login and enhanced security; many Thomson Reuters products are due to be upgraded to use this type of account in the near future.
As you may not know when your instance was activated, you can use the invitation email to discover which type of account your instance uses:

HighQ Collaborate account:

Thomson Reuters account with Single Sign-On (SSO)
From March 2023, users on a new Collaborate instance benefit from a Thomson Reuters account. Thomson Reuters accounts enable users to have a seamless authentication process between Thomson Reuters products in a secure, consistent, and connected way.
For more information, please contact your HighQ representative
Thomson Reuters accounts use Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) principles to integrate with SSO identity providers.
Please note that we can offer integration with identity providers (SSO) that use SAML and OIDC protocols.
Activating a new account
Before you can access your Thomson Reuters account, a system admin must register your account in User admin, using your name and email address, and then send an invite.
This invitation is sent directly to the inbox of your registered email account.
Responding to a site invitation
When your Thomson Reuters account is first created, you receive an email that contains a link to accept the invitation.
The invite will address you with the name entered when the admin registered your email address.
The content of the email depends on the single-sign-on (SSO) provider used with your domain.

To accept the invitation and activate your account, click Accept invite.
Passwords are never sent via email or otherwise. You set your password when you activate your account.
Activating your account with SSO
After you click on Accept invite, the Welcome to Collaborate screen is displayed in the browser for the site that was configured by the admin.

This screen may be branded for your organisation's instance.
Enter your email address and click Continue.
This is the same address used to receive your invite.
Activating with an existing SSO account ('Federated domain')
If the site uses an SSO (single sign-on) provider, the SSO sign-in screen opens:

This step uses the single sign-on provider chosen by your organisation. The sign-in screen will vary
Enter your account username and password, then click Sign in (or the equivalent used by your SSO provider).
Your browser opens the site and you may navigate and use the site as configured by your organisation. We recommend you edit your profile.
Edit your profile and account settings
Click on the profile button in the top-right corner of the browser window to edit your profile and see your account settings.

Note that your authentication settings are set by your single sign-on provider.

Logging in
You can use your Thomson Reuters account to log in to any Thomson Reuters site, as long as you have received an invitation from that site.
In the future, when you first receive an invitation to another Thomson Reuters application, site, or otherwise wish to access Collaborate, you must use the Please click here to login link in the invitation email.
If you have set up access from the invitation email, you can sign in with your Thomson Reuters credentials.

If you have already logged in to any Thomson Reuters site, then you are automatically logged in to other Thomson Reuters sites, as long as you have an active account on that site.
A System Administrator can set up two factor authentication for some or all accounts that access a site. Instructions on logging in are here.
Resetting your password
If you cannot remember your password or have been locked out of your account, click Reset your password.
If you fail to log in ten times in a row, your account is locked and you cannot log in, even with your correct password
You receive a message after your third failed login attempt:

Reset your password to unlock access to your account.
If necessary, a system administrator can unlock an account that has been locked.
You can also change your password periodically.
Multi-factor Authentication
To manage multi-factor authentication, navigate to your profile drop-down menu and click Settings:

The Settings screen is displayed. Navigate to My Authentication settings > Multi-factor Authentication:

Click Continue; the Manage two-step verification screen opens:

You can manage multiple methods of two-step verification.
Managing profile and security details
After you have managed your two-step authentication, click Back to account:

In Manage account you can:
Manage your security details
Please note that although you can change your Thomson Reuters email address, we do not recommend this as doing so will prevent you from accessing your Collaborate instances

Additionally, click Change password to change your password.
